NICOLE & KEITH TO SAY ‘I DO’... AGAIN!
More in love than ever, the A-list couple are set to renew their vows in a romantic second wedding in Hawaii
Keith Urban told friends he and Nicole Kidman had “nothing special” planned ahead of his 50th birthday. But little did he know, his lovely wife, together with the couple’s daughters Sunday, nine, and six-year-old Faith, had cooked up the perfect birthday surprise. Nicole asked Keith to marry her – again!
“Nicole wanted to do something special for Keith for his 50th and she knew popping the question and proposing a second wedding would make him smile,” a source close to the couple tells Woman’s Day of the moment the actress told him her plan on his birthday on October 26. “She told friends afterwards it’s something she’d been planning for months.”
MEANINGFUL LOCATION
With family first and foremost in the couple’s life, Woman’s Day has learned Nicole has chosen Hawaii, where she was born, as the destination for their romantic second wedding. Not only have they travelled there on numerous occasions, but in April this year Keith reportedly bought Nicole’s childhood home as a surprise for her own 50th birthday.
It’s also believed he often calls his wife Hokulani, the Hawaiian name she was given after her birth, as a term of endearment.
“It means heavenly star,” the actress has explained.
While their first wedding, on June 25, 2006, was a huge affair in Sydney with a big wedding party and A-list guests, for their second wedding Nicole and Keith want to keep things far less flashy.
HEARTFELT VOWS
They plan to return to Hawaii once more with a small group of family and friends in attendance. For now, the date and the exact location are being kept under wraps, but Nicole is already said to be busy planning the perfect day. She’s making it all very personal – from the cake to her dress – which will be far more casual than the gown she wore to her first wedding – and she’s writing her own vows, which will no doubt be incredibly heartfelt and emotional.
Having celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary this year, Nicole and Keith both believe now is the perfect time to renew their vows.
“She’s hoping this second wedding will only make them stronger,” a friend says, adding Nicole knows all the ups and downs the couple have faced have brought them closer together in the end.

“She wants the day to be even more special than their first wedding – especially as their girls will be there, too.”
Certainly, the couple are enjoying some of the best years of their marriage. Nicole has been particularly effusive about her husband in recent times, calling him “the greatest man in the world” in a social media post on his birthday.
“Keith always says to me, ‘You stay raw and sensitive, and I’ll buffer things for you,’ which is a beautiful offering,” she revealed in an interview just days later. “He is always told, ‘You’re so tough.’ And he says, ‘That’s not what I want for you, Nicole. You don’t need to get a thick skin.’ ”
The Aussie star says she is delighted she and Keith can set such a shining example of a strong and loving partnership for their daughters.
“My big passion is just my family... my love,” she has said. “My daughter said to me, you and Daddy kiss all the time – I thought, that’s such a fantastic thing for your daughter to say to you.”
