TERRI’S FEUD WITH HER SISTER... OVER!

The wildlife warrior and her sister haven’t spoken in years, but Bindi is helping heal their rift

-

It’s the bitter feud Terri Irwin swept under the rug – even hiding her pain from those who know her best. The wildlife warrior and her sister Patricia Raines had a fallout just before their mother’s death in 2014, and they’ve been estranged ever since.

But in happy news for Terri, sources say the siblings are finally on track and mending their rift after a difficult few years. And Patricia is even hoping for an invite to niece Bindi’s wedding!

“Things have been tense over the past few years for internal reasons, which the family have been keeping private,” a zoo insider tells Woman’s Day.

“But time is a great healer, and it seems like they could all be ready to move on. That’s what everyone really wants. And Terri has too much love in her heart to let this ugliness last.”

In 2016, Patricia revealed she hadn’t spoken to Terri or their other sister Bonnie Marineau in two years – since around the time their mother Julia passed away at the age of 87 from an illness.

CHANCE TO RECONNECT

“I was always very, very close with my sisters, but families are interesting and crazy – I think it’s the way they are,” she said at the time.

“I never knew that because our family was incredibly close all these years.”

But Terri’s estranged sister said she’d love to spend time with Bindi again – particularly if the 19-year-old was about to walk down the aisle.

“I got married at 17 to the love of my life, and now Bindi could do the same. She’s so much like me. I’m tremendously proud of Bindi,” she said.

“I’m so delighted for her and would love to give her the opportunity to reconnect. I think she’s good and genuine all the way to her very core.”

A FAMILY WEDDING

Sources say Patricia would be “thrilled” to attend Bindi’s wedding to American boyfriend Chandler Powell – and with an impending engagement, it seems she’s healed her rift with Terri just in time.

“The wedding would be the perfect occasion for Terri and Tricia to make amends once and for all,” says the insider. “Bindi wants her family to be happy and thinks life is too short…

“It wouldn’t be a surprise if she asked all of her extended relatives to be there when she ties the knot, as it would be a big family celebration.”

According to the zoo insider, the last thing Bindi would want is for there to be any drama surrounding her wedding or to have it contribute to any kind of feud.

“Bindi is a really sweet girl and just wants the best for all the people in her life. She’s so happy right now, and wants everyone to share in that happiness with her,” says the insider.

HEALING THROUGH TIME

But while it looks like Terri, 53, and Patricia, 64, have decided to bury the hatchet, sources say it will take some time for the sisters to return to the way things were before their dramatic falling out.

“Terri and Patricia are taking it step by step – they can’t become best friends overnight,” explains the insider.

“It’s not like they’re spending loads of time together all of a sudden. Only time will tell if Patricia will get an invitation to Bindi and Chandler’s big day, but that would be a sure sign they’re in a good place.

“For now, they’re on the right track to putting this all behind them. Things are looking up!”
