Tiffiny Hall is the poster girl for new mums

The Biggest Loser trainer’s refreshing body honesty has won her a new legion of fans

Imay never get back to my size six hips and washboard abs, but I’m comfortable with that,” says former The Biggest Loser trainer Tiffiny Hall.

Tiff inadvertently became a poster girl for new mums across Australia when she shared a refreshingly candid bathroom selfie – complete with swollen belly and nursing top – of her holding baby son Arnold just five days after giving birth to him.

“I was wearing a singlet and still looked very pregnant with fat arms, yet all these women were thanking me for being honest in showing my body,” says Tiff, who had no idea the post would spark such a positive reaction.

“It made me realise women really do feel pressure to bounce back, even five days after having a baby. I thought, ‘That’s it, I’m going to keep putting out images of my body.’ ”

Four months after having Arnold, the 33-year-old has lost all but nine of the 30kg she gained during pregnancy. And while she’s slowly regaining her shape – she previously weighed 53kg and wore size six clothes – she’s certainly not obsessing.

“I’m not going to sacrifice time with Arnold to go to the gym, and I’m not going to sacrifice my milk supply by dieting,” says Tiff, revealing she was sick throughout her pregnancy “right up until my last contraction, and all I wanted was sausage rolls”.

Now the personal trainer, who’s married to radio star Ed Kavalee, is gradually building up her strength by working out at home for 20 minutes a day and walking with Arnold.

“I’ve had to start on the lowest fitness level. My goal is to get up to five push-ups on my knees,” she says.

Tiff also believes we need to change the way women’s post-baby bodies are viewed and ditch terms like “bounce back”.

“I have so much more empathy now because I could deliver the exercises before [giving birth], but now I understand how frustrating it is for new mums.

“I want to have more kids and I’m proud of how strong my body was. I feel amazing.”
