Woman’s Day (Australia)

Behind The Scenes

-

The Family Feud star opens up to Woman’s Day about his new radio gig with Em Rusciano and Ed Kavalee, and life at home with wife Chezzi and their girls, Sailor, six, and two-year-old Scout.

How are you finding radio?

It’s great because radio makes you enjoy the now. You start observing your life and take it all in, because it could be potential content for tomorrow! You do have heaps of funny stories... I accidentally confessed to everyone that my wife and I were doing OK in the bedroom. I didn’t think that one out... She might not want her parents hearing that! What’s it like working with Em? She’s freaking frightening! She’s bold, brave, smart... I’m not smart. But she’s frightening for wonderful reasons. She’ll stand up for the little guy, which is a great human quality to have.

Is it hard being away from your girls for work?

Absolutely. It’s just been one of those periods where a lot of work has come at once. But we’re just finding our way and splitting our time between home and here. Is Chezzi supportive of your hectic work schedule? She is my main motivation. I was looking for every reason not to do the radio gig because I was afraid it’d be too much. But she said it’s an incredible opportunity. Are you planning more kids? We thought we were done, but we don’t know. Our second one, Scout, is such hard work. I’ve seen people who’ve had two kids and been model parents, and then they have a third and the wheels fall off! I’m not fussed either way. Our girls are so precious.
