JESS’ SHOCK HEALTH SCARE

-

It’s Australian television’s glittering night of nights, with the Gold Logie the most coveted prize of all! So it’s little wonder the entertainment industry’s in shock that nominee Jessica Marais pulled out of attending last Sunday’s event. “It’s all anyone can talk about,” confessed a source as Woman’s Day went to press. “She’s an industry favourite to win it, she’s so talented. It’ll be so awkward if she’s won the biggest award in Aussie TV and isn’t there to accept it under bizarre circumstances.”

In a cryptic statement, the 33-year-old’s rep said, “It is with much disappointment we advise Jessica is unable to attend the TV Week Logie Awards due to her health. Jess is naturally disappointed, is grateful to TV Week and all the viewers who have nominated her for the awards this year, and wishes all the nominees and her friends a great celebration on Sunday night.”

The Love Child and The Wrong Girl actress, nominated for the Most Popular Personality Gold Logie along with a Most Popular Actress Silver Logie, revealed in 2014 she’s been living with bipolar disorder since she was 12 years old.

“I’ve had cognitive therapy training, so I choose not to be medicated,” Jess, who shares six-year-old Scout with her ex-partner James Stewart, told The Australian Women’s Weekly at the time.

“Everyone’s hoping she’s OK and it’s not to do with her bipolar, which has been a real struggle for Jess,” says a source.
