Pink Stop the haters!

As she comes under fire for cancelling shows, this Aussie mum says the singer needs our support

She was crowned Australia’s biggest Pink fan in a Today competition that saw her whisked off to the Staples Centre in LA last year to watch her idol perform. And last week, Manda Dyer drove three hours from her home in Jervis Bay, NSW, to Sydney, once more on a mission to catch Pink in action.

But when the pop star was forced to cancel due to illness, Manda, 41, who’d already waited in line for four hours to secure her spot close to the stage, was far from angry.

“She’s human and she gets sick like the rest of us,” Manda tells Woman’s Day. “She’s a mum and a wife first, and a performer second. Your health is always the most important thing.”

Manda’s concern for her pop idol hasn’t been echoed by all Aussie fans, many of whom lashed out on social media after Pink, 38, was forced to cancel a number of shows on her Beautiful Trauma world tour. It comes after the mum-of-two was admitted to St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney on August 5 suffering g severe dehydration. She was later discharged arged but returned the following day and was diagnosed with a gastric virus.

Manda, who was attending the concert rt with her husband Graham, 44, and daughters s Harmony, 14, and 10-year-old Taryn, also o has tickets to see Pink in Sydney on August 25, 5, and she’s even flying to New Zealand to see her shows later this month, too.

But regardless of whether or not they get to see Pink rock out again, Manda says fans ans should be more supportive. ‘She gets sick like the he rest of us. Real Pink nk fans understand’ ’

“They’re obviously not real Pink fans,” she says, adding those who think the singer ger has let them down need to step back and think nk about what really matters. “Real Pink fans s understand. If she were 100 per cent, she e would have gone on the stage.

“She loves Australia and Australians,” Manda adds of her idol. “I hope this doesn’t change nge her opinion of us.”
