Eat well and feel well with GWYNETH PALTROW

-

Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow has built an empire out of her lifestyle brand Goop. “I sent out a little newsletter from my kitchen in Belsize Park in 2008 and now this whole business has been created,” says the wellness guru. With her latest cookbook, The Clean Plate, Gwyneth has created more than 100 meals to nourish and detox without compromising on flavour. Here she shares three of her favourite recipes as we look back at some of her best advice.

EATING CLEAN

“On a normal day I’ll have a smoothie for breakfast. I have a healthy lunch with some protein and salad. And for dinner, I have whatever I want, but I do try to avoid highly processed foods.”

MINDFULNESS

“I have a pretty healthy diet, so when I’m eating processed foods and not watching my alcohol intake, I feel it. You’re going to have a baguette-and-cheese-and-red-wine frenzy sometimes – but you want it to be a choice you’re awake to: I know this might not make me feel great, but today I’m choosing it anyway!”

BALANCING ACT

“I always strive towards how we can optimise our health, but I am very honest and transparent about the fact I love a martini and a plate of French fries! You have to know you are living in the modern world and balance is key.”
