Tori Spelling’s downfall

Tori Spelling’s plummet from the top has been tragic as her spending habits get out of control

-

Growing up with a silver spoon in her mouth as the heiress to a television mogul, Tori Spelling had the good life on a plate.

But after inheriting just $1.4 million from her famous father TV and film producer Aaron’s gigantic fortune, the bigspending blonde has struggled to curb her extravagant ways.

The lavish lifestyle Tori’s become accustomed to has left her in the red and she’s being chased for more than $168,000 in credit card debt and reportedly owes California’s Franchise Tax Board more than $623,000 plus a further $762,000 to a US bank.

THE SIMPLE LIFE

The champagne taste on a beer budget mother-of-five attributes her monetary battles to not being able to adjust to a simple life.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, 45, had always been close to her father. But when he died in 2006 it was a rude awakening for Tori having to get used to a “normal” life after growing up in the $277 million Spelling Manor, which had three rooms dedicated to giftwrapping and a bowling alley!

But Tori’s late dad and his wife Candy knew their daughter was too financially irresponsible to receive any more money than she inherited.

“She would close a store and drop up to $83,000,” Candy once said. “She just went crazy.”

Tori admits it’s no mystery why she has money issues. “I grew up rich beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. I never knew anything else,” she says.

‘I can’t seem to let go of my expensive tastes’

“When I try to embrace a simpler lifestyle, I can’t seem to let go of my expensive tastes.”

Tori and her actor t h husband Dean McDermott, 52, both have a penchant for flitting away their funds. Dean drives a $125,000 Ducati and once they moved home so quickly that Tori owed $14,000 in rent to her landlord.

BIG BILLS

The couple have been married for 12 years and have daughters Stella, 10, and Hattie, seven, and sons Liam, 11, Finn, six, and Beau, who turns two in March. The family currently rents an $18,000-a-month house that’s paid for by mum Candy.

Tori’s mother also confirmed she forks out for the family’s food and her grandkids’ schooling, which mounts up to an estimated $278,000 a year.

With Candy covering the essentials, the big bills are all down to Tori’s excessive expenditure. “She spends a fortune on cosmetic surgery, haircuts, clothes and holidays,” spills a close source.

Now the star is hoping a recent stint on hit TV show The Masked Singer will turn the tables on her money woes – but until then the spendthrift former star has resorted to garage sales and Instagram endorsements, promoting everything from cleaning products to weight loss tea to try and reverse her debt.

“Tori will do anything to relive her glory days and all the luxury that came with it,” reveals our source. “Even after all these years, she’s just not cut out for the simple life!”
