Her 50th birthday celebrations continue as the romcom queen is whisked off into the sunset by her old flame
It was the reunion the whole world’s been waiting for! As Jennifer Aniston celebrated turning the big 5-0 with her superstar friends including Ellen Degeneres, Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow, there was one extra special face in the crowd.
The actress’ ex-husband Brad Pitt, 55, snuck into the party to top all parties at the swanky Sunset Tower Hotel in LA, where guests drank and danced the night away.
“Jen was thrilled that Brad came,” a close source confirms. “She’s been eager for a while to stop hiding their friendship from the world. Now this big gesture’s their way of showing everything that’s happened between them is water under the bridge.”
Brad enjoyed a few hours at the party before dodging eagle-eyed onlookers and slipping out unnoticed via an underground car park – but not before the Fight Club star and the birthday girl got to have a good catch-up.
It seems their conversation was way too brief and Woman’s Day can reveal the Hollywood hunk – who’s in the final stages of a bitter divorce with Angelina Jolie – has now whisked the star off for a romantic getaway!
The couple were spotted at LAX just days after her party. “Brad gave Jen the ultimate present,” our insider confesses. “They needed some time alone away from prying eyes.”
STEPPING STONE
Brad split from Jen in
2005, and began his ill-fated relationship with co-star Angelina in the movie Mr & Mrs Smith, but rumours the former lovebirds had rekindled the spark ramped up when Jen announced her separation from second husband

Indeed, it’s believed they were full-steam ahead as far as rekindling their love goes in the months following the end of Jen’s marriage, but they cooled things as Brad’s divorce battle heated up. Then, after a brief period of cutting off contact, they started talking again. “Brad and Jen started texting more and talking on the phone. Everyone knows Jen’s still head-over-heels for Brad and the feeling’s mutual,” spills our source.
“They’re totally different people to who they were when they got married. Everyone’s highly confident they’ll use this getaway as a stepping stone to get back together.”
Their secret escape was also the perfect chance for Brad to clear an age-old bad conscience. The father-of-six once dissed his

relationship with his ex, saying he “wasn’t living an interesting life” until Angelina came along and that he was “trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t”.
Jen defended his comments. “Brad is not mean-spirited – he’d never intentionally try to rub something in my face... There’s a sensitivity chip missing.”
Although he later apologised for the hurtful comments, he’s been dogged with guilt and desperate to redeem himself since. “Brad feels lousy for all the times he hurt Jen, even most recently when he called time on their relationship to focus on his battle with Ange,” our insider reveals. “He wants Jen to see how much he’s changed.”
SECOND CHANCE
As the A-listers continue to secretly share more romantic liaisons, friends are convinced this is just the beginning of a reblossoming love affair.
“They can deny it all they like but the chemistry’s still there and they’re both in a place where they are finally ready to find love again,” adds our source. “Everyone wants to see them back together and this romantic getaway is 100 per cent the alone time they need.”
