George Clooney has a keen interest in human rights, some wealthy and powerful political allies, loads of money and a brilliant and beautiful potential First Lady, so you’d be right in thinking he has all the requirements for the top job.

But now George has left little doubt that he’s about to launch a run at the White House, after entertaining former

US president Barack Obama and his family at his and his wife Amal’s luxurious Lake Como villa in Italy last week.

Not only did he spend hours picking Barack’s brain, he also entertained U2 rocker Bono, famous for his philanthropy.

Sources tell Woman’s Day George, 58, has been toying with the idea of going into politics for several years but has decided the time is now. “George has been privately

despairing about the state of America and the world for a long time, but becoming a husband and now a father [to Ella and Alexander, two] finally prompted him to do something about it,” says our insider.

“As a human rights lawyer, Amal has opened his eyes more than ever about what’s really going on in the world. George wants to change the future for his twins.”

Our insider says that George is eyeing entering the race for President in 2024, but Barack may have convinced him to make a late run for the Democratic party leadership to challenge Donald Trump in next year’s US election.

“Amal never saw herself as a politician’s handbag, but she believes George

– and herself – have the right ingredients to make a difference,” adds a source.
