Little Indy sent her family a new baby

Covering her newborn in kisses and swaddling her with love, mother Tamica Harrower knows what a

precious gift her daughter Angel Lee is for her family.

“This beautiful baby has been sent to us to bring us some joy – a joy we never thought we would ever feel again,” says Tamica.

HEAVEN-SENT

Little Angel Lee’s miracle arrival in April comes two-and-a-half years after a horror accident struck the Campbelltown family. Tamica’s bubbly three-year-old daughter Indy Lee was crushed to death beneath a 500kg Anzac monument in November, 2016, while she was playing with her older brothers brot and sister. When W the monument m toppled t over at the t Black Head Bowling B Club on the NSW mi mid-north coast and killed Indy, the family were shattered by grief.

“No one can understand the pain unless they’ve lost a child. I really didn’t want to go on and, if it hadn’t been for my other children, I probably wouldn’t be here,” she says.

Because of complications after Indy’s birth, Tamica, 32, was told she should never try for another child or she’d risk her own life. But a psychic gave Tamica and her partner Robbie Bishop a glimmer of light.

“She told me I was going to have another baby and the baby was going to be chosen by Indy, so that brought me some peace,” says Tamica. “It gave me hope knowing Indy was going to hand-pick a baby for us.”

But first, the family endured further sadness, with Tamica enduring a miscarriage and a phantom pregnancy before the psychic’s prediction finally came true and Angel was born.

“When I first saw her face, it was a surreal feeling,” says Tamica. “She looked like Indy did when she was a baby – almost identical except for the hair. I felt like I’d been given a little bit back of what I’d been missing. We decided to call her Angel because she’s our angel on earth, sent from our angel in heaven.”

EMERGENCY SURGERY

‘She told me the baby was going to be chosen by Indy’

The first few weeks after Angel’s birth were tough on Tamica, who lost 3.5 litres of blood and underwent emergency surgery post-delivery.

She struggled to form a bond with her newborn, her post traumatic stress disorder blocking her happiness.

“I was holding myself back from forming a deep connection because I felt like she was only going to be gifted to me for a short time,” says Tamica, who endured a harrowing inquest into Indy’s death when she was four months pregnant with

Angel. “But now Angel is smiling at me, I feel nothing but joy. There isn’t a tinge of sadness. I can look at Angel and be truly happy because I know Indy is next to her and watching her and looking out for her, just as I am.

“Suddenly we’ve got this beautiful little bundle of joy and it’s amazing to wake up to her, just amazing.”

Angel’s arrival has been a blessing for the whole family with her older siblings Bradley, 16, Keira, 14, and Junior, 12, jostling for hugs and kisses with their baby sister, while Tamica and Robbie plan their October wedding.

‘THE ONLY ONE FOR ME’

“Our wedding is going to be a big celebration of love,” says Tamica, who started a charity called indybear.com, which makes teddy bears for those experiencing grief.

“One thing I’ve learned is I will never get over Indy’s death but I do have to move forward and I know Robbie is the only man for me, the only one who will ever understand me.”
