Fears the star may be off the wagon

The actor’s return to Hollywood has sparked fears for his sobriety

Mingling with the rich and famous at the afterparty for his new film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, man-of-the-moment Brad Pitt looked totally at ease as he worked the room at Hollywood’s luxe Roosevelt Hotel.

But it was more than just his devilish good looks that had heads turned, with the vocally sober star clinging to a glass tumbler that looked suspiciously like a cocktail. Now sources tell Woman’s Day that the talk of the party was that Brad, 55, might have fallen off the wagon.

“Brad had someone bringing him drinks throughout the evening – though, of course, they could be mocktails,” says the insider. “He certainly became more animated as the night went on, which had a lot of people questioning whether he was back on the drink.”

His loved ones would certainly have reason for concern after the actor’s shocking confession in 2017 that his alcohol addiction had destroyed his marriage to Angelina Jolie, 44, and torn his family apart.

Brad was able to clean up his act, but now in the midst of his triumphant return to the movie world, those close to the star are worried he could be drawn back into his old, self-destructive ways.

“Temptation is everywhere with all the parties, the socialising and the drinking,” explains the insider. “It’s a really slippery slope he would be heading down.”

Not only could it jeopardise his physical and mental health, but sources say Angelina is also looking for any opportunity to poke holes in the drawn-out custody agreement for their six children, Maddox 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

“Everybody is praying Brad is strong enough to resist temptation,” says the insider.
