Reunited with her loving husband

Happy once more, Mary and Fred reunite for a royal beach getaway with their kids

-

Just weeks ago Princess Mary of Denmark and her husband Prince Frederik were embarking on a sad summer apart – dividing their time solo with their four young children as their marriage appeared to crumble.

But when they made the decision to unite for a holiday outside the castle walls in the pretty port of Skagen, it turned out to be the getaway they needed to reconnect and ultimately save their marriage.

“It really opened their eyes and made them realise they’ve been so bogged down with royal duties and their crazy schedules that they had forgotten how to have fun together,” one royal watcher out of Denmark tells Woman’s Day. “They promised their children – and each other – that this holiday would be all play and no work, and that’s exactly what they’ve done.”

MAKING A SPLASH

The royals, including children Prince Christian, 13, Princess Isabella, 12, and eight-year-old twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent, along with their friends, were pictured splashing about in the ocean. They couldn’t have looked happier – even with the Danish summer temperatures a little chillier than Aussie Mary is used to!

ROMANCE IS BACK ON

The Tasmanian-born princess, 47, showed off her fabulous figure as well as her swimming skills as she had a ball diving under the waves as her husband, 51, watched on.

“It’s amazing what a welldeserved holiday can do for a couple,” adds our royal insider. “It’s as if they’ve done a complete 180. The romance is back and they looked like a picture-perfect family.

“If this is what the rest of the summer entails, Mary and Fred won’t want it to ever end.”
