KATE CROWNED QUEEN!

The duchess proves she has what it takes, as the monarchy faces a fresh scandal

CHARLES STEPS DOWN!

Barely a week goes by that a member of the British royal family isn’t involved in some kind of calamity, and these past seven days have been among the worst on record.

As 93-year-old Queen Elizabeth dealt with her son Prince Andrew being dragged back into an underage sex scandal last week, and national debate rages on about Prince Harry and Meghan’s less-than-royal behaviour, the Duchess of Cambridge was the very picture of British pride as she competed alongside Prince William at a charity boat race in the Isle of Wight, their adorable children by her side.

“Kate is keeping the family’s reputation afloat – no pun intended,” says a royal insider.

“She always has. The Queen calls Kate her most reliable grandchild. And in her eyes, good service is always rewarded.”

Now, Woman’s Day is told the Queen has summoned William and Kate, both 37, to her summer residence in Balmoral, where insiders tell us she is drawing up plans to rewrite the royal history books and hand them the crown – bypassing 70-year-old Prince Charles, who has been waiting 67 years to trade up his Prince of Wales title.

“The Queen can’t stand the state of affairs her children have put the family in over the years, and wants to make sure she leaves the monarchy and Commonwealth in safe hands. Her confidence in Kate and Wills to lead them into a new era is at an all-time high,” another royal source tells, adding that even Charles has all but resigned himself to his sidelining.

“Kate is squeaky clean, never complains and takes on more every day,” the insider continues. “She works harder than anyone, and thoroughly deserves to be the next queen. William is so proud of her. He knows Kate’s keeping the royals alive, and he’s so grateful for everything she’s doing for the family.”
