When Delta Goodrem embraced her dear friend Olivia NewtonJohn on the red carpet in Hollywood recently, their smiles could not have been more genuine. Now Woman’s Day can reveal there was a bigger reason, other than a heartfelt reunion, behind their obvious elation – Delta’s about to have a baby!
‘He’s making sure Delta’s got everything she needs’
The much-loved Voice coach and musician, 34, has been confiding to friends – including Olivia – that she’s head over heels with long-time boyfriend Matthew Copley, and rumours are swirling that she could already be expecting.
“The word is that Delta’s decided to have a baby sooner than later, and she’s totally committed to a long-term future with Matthew,” shares our insider.
“It makes perfect sense that she and Matthew are ready to be parents, because they’re all about intimacy and the simple things these days.
“Delta’s been doing a lot of nesting and relaxing at home while Matthew runs all the errands. He’s always out picking up the shopping, getting lunch for her and making sure she’s got everything she needs.
So if and when she does get pregnant, he’ll be the perfect person to take care of her during those nine months!”
The source adds, “Delta and Matthew have definitely had their ups and downs, but they’ve never been in such a good place as they are right now and they’re ready to start a family.
“She used to love going out partying, but lately their idea of a perfect date night is to snuggle up together and watch movies on the couch.
“She’s got a wonderful support base and everyone thoroughly approves of Matthew, especially Olivia. She has zero doubt whatsoever that Delta will make a great mother.”
