KATE TAKES THE THRONE!

The Queen makes a historic decision, which breaks Prince Charles’ heart

-

It was supposed to be his shining moment. Prince Charles, resplendent in his Admiral of the Fleet Royal Navy uniform, had been invited to sit alongside his mother amid the pomp and circumstance as she addressed the opening of British Parliament at the House of Lords last week, with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall by his side for the first time.

Instead, onlookers were quick to notice that the next in line to the throne looked like he was about to burst into tears – and now royal aides tell Woman’s Day the bombshell reason for the 70-year-old prince’s distress.

TIME TO STEP ASIDE

“Apparently, right before they arrived, the Queen revealed her big plan to reshape the monarchy after a year of their reputation taking a terrible beating,” one royal insider reveals. “She knows that the future of the family lies with William and Kate, rather than Charles who has never fully had the support of their subjects. In as many words, she was telling him that he should prepare to step aside for his son and daughter-in-law – who really is the crowd favourite both in Britain and around the world

– to become king and queen.”

It’s been a tough year for the 93-year-old monarch. She’s watched her son Prince Andrew embroiled in an inquiry about his friendship with dead paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, while her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have caused endless dramas within the family and in the media.

“The Queen seriously doubts Charles has the nous to run the family,” our source confirms. “On the other hand, William is a steady hand, and Kate, well, everyone would love to see her take the throne.”

The Queen’s revelations come as she continues to scale back her duties, instead sending the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 37, on historic tours such as their visit to Pakistan last week.

“Charles has been watching his mother age and preparing for his shining moment, finally,” says a source. “Now to have her land the news on him that she intends to include William and Kate more than ever in her succession plan, was a bitter pill for him to swallow. w.

“He’s devastated, but watching them shine in Pakistan, he has to admit that the Queen is, as usual, correct – William is ready and Kate e will make a beautiful queen.”
