THÉODORE PELLERIN ‘I’M SO INTIMIDATED BY KIRSTEN DUNST’

-

Up-and-coming Canadian actor Theodore Pellerin is causing quite a stir with his performance as Cody Bonar – a man stuck in the middle of a pyramid scheme – in On Becoming A God In Central Florida. We asked the 22-yearold what it’s like working with co-star and Hollywood megastar Kirsten Dunst.

This show is absolutely bonkers. What made you sign on?

There was Kirsten Dunst and the script was amazing. [Also] George Clooney was producing, so I was like, “Do I want to be a part of this?’” I just loved how dark it was, how funny it was and how human it was. I also am just a big fan of Kirsten Dunst, I love her.

You would have grown up on her movies. What’s your favourite of hers?

The Virgin Suicides was one of the first movies I remember as a teenager. And I remember when Spider-man

came out, and you know, that kiss was a revelation! So yes, I really grew up with Kirsten [laughs].

You’ve got a lot of chemistry with Kirsten. Did you have many screen tests with her?

No, there was only one, and what was funny about it was we did it at Kirsten’s place. The director was there and Kirsten was there with her husband and her baby, and we just talked for a while in her kitchen.

What was it like filming the risque scenes?

We had a lot of fun doing it! It’s always easier when you’re doing scenes with someone you get along with.

Do you know anyone that’s been in a pyramid scheme?

No, but it was so interesting to learn about it. These are just people who want a different life... It’s just sort of sad really.
