HARRY & MEGHAN KICKED OUT OF CANADA!
The locals aren’t making the royal couple feel very welcome…
If Prince Harry and his wife Meghan thought Canada would roll out the welcome mat upon their arrival, they should probably think again.
An increasing anti-sussex undertone is beginning to appear among Canadians, just as the duke and duchess begin to throw their weight around with diva demands.
It’s been reported by the local press that the couple may expect their adopted home country’s taxpayers to foot their private security bills, which experts believe could hit $8.5 million. And in a recent poll, a whopping 70 per cent of Canadians surveyed said absolutely not.
“Canadians don’t really care if Harry and Meghan are there or not – until you ask them to subsidise their lives,” says a palace insider.
“Harry and Meghan are shocked by the hostile response. Meghan particularly thought she would be welcomed with open arms given she spent so much time in Toronto filming Suits, but Canadians generally aren’t particularly impressed by celebrity status.”
HUGE MISTAKE
Meanwhile, the couple petulantly sent cease and desist letters to major London papers after photos were taken of Meghan, 38, walking in a public park with her son Archie and two dogs.
“They’ve been griping about having no privacy in England,” says a newspaper insider. “But ironically they had a lot more protections around them in the UK than they do in North America.
“The paparazzi [in North America] are far more ruthless and aren’t bound by as many rules.”
“Harry and Meghan have made a huge mistake. Harry is so used to getting his own way – and Meghan rapidly joined him in that attitude when she married him – that living in Canada with press just outside your gate constantly is going to be a bitter pill for him to swallow.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if they were run out of town by angry locals and aggressive media interest.”
