The star comes to his ex’s rescue – and Amal’s far from impressed
George Clooney has been dragged into an ugly assault case involving his sexy ex – despite his wife Amal’s demands that he keeps his nose out of it.
A Los Angeles judge has ordered the arrest of Elisabetta Canalis, who the 58-year-old dated from 2009 to 2011, after a shocking incident in which she fought with a fellow mum at her daughter’s dance class in September last year.
Elisabetta, 41, allegedly “got into” the other woman’s face, according to a witness, who added it was like “two guys in a bar fight”.
A report was filed with the West Hollywood sheriff, and when Elisabetta failed to turn up for her arraignment on December 4, a warrant for her arrest was issued. Now, the Italian actress has turned to her ex for help.
According to Woman’s Day’s insiders, the pair have been texting, with “George pledging his full support”.
“They’re still on good terms, and he used to be attracted to Elisabetta for her fiery temper.
He’s not surprised about this incident at all,” says a source.
Which isn’t exactly what Amal, 42, wanted to hear.
“Firstly, Amal is a high-profile lawyer who represents real
people with real problems, so she thinks it’s embarrassing that he’s getting involved with something so cheap and nasty. She’s told George in no uncertain terms that she wants nothing to do with Elisabetta and her court case,” says our source.
“Secondly, and Amal probably won’t admit this, but it irks her that he’s obviously still close with Elisabetta. She’s one of George’s many exes Amal has always felt uneasy about – she’s hot, young, and incidentally looks not unlike herself. Her women’s instincts are definitely firing, here.”
