‘GHISLAINE WILL SNITCH ON PRINCE ANDREW’

-

ROYAL AUTHOR NIGEL CAWTHORNE REVEALS WHAT HER ARREST MEANS FOR THE QUEEN’S SON

As Ghislaine’s shocking arrest puts more pressure on Buckingham Palace, Nigel Cawthorne, author of Prince Andrew, Epstein And The Palace, tells Woman’s Day Andrew only has two options.

Nigel believes Ghislaine will be offered a plea bargain to spill all the secrets she knows, and while it has been said that, if she does have any information for authorities, she’d never rat out her dear friend Andrew, she will “spend a long time thinking about it”.

“A lot of people have said she only cares about herself, and I think if you’re facing 35 years in jail – she’s 58 already – she’s going to be in her 90s when she comes out,” he says.

Nigel believes the Duke of York now has two choices. “He can either get on a plane and go and be cross-examined by a red-hot Manhattan prosecutor

– who won’t give him as such an easy time as [BBC journalist] Emily Maitlis did, and he didn’t handle that too brilliantly – or he can refuse to go... if he does that, I don’t think he’ll be able to hold his head up in public again.”

With pressure also mounting on the Queen, Nigel says she also is caught at a crossroads constitutionally.

“Andrew’s her favourite son, he’s been very loyal to her, but what does surprise me is when the Sussexes stood down from royal duties, their royal title was dropped and they weren’t going to get any more money from the Privy Purse, however Andrew stepped away from his royal duties yet he still has his title and still gets a third of a million pounds every year for doing nothing,” he says.
