Inside Elle’s CRAZY WORLD

The salad-blessing entrepreneur is on an eternal search of perfection

Looking at her Instagram, Elle Macpherson gives the impression that she lives a serene life of motherhood and wellness by the ocean in tropical Miami.

“The Body” still looks just as good – if not better – at 56 than when she was one of the world’s most famous supermodels in the ’80s. But behind her series of bikini selfies, arty pics of herself with sons Flynn, 22, and Cy, 17, and videos of herself enjoying Welleco elixirs – created and sold by hers truly – lies a much more interesting tale.

Since her days making bedroom eyes at fashion magazine photographers, she’s grown into a shrewd businesswoman who takes no prisoners and hooked up with a list of rich exes.

Elle, who is in a relationship with anti-vaxxer Andrew Wakefield – who was stripped of his doctor’s licence in his native UK and is blamed for a measles outbreak in the US – has kept her latest love under wraps.

“They’re frequently seen at local organic markets and are known to associate with [President] Donald Trump when he is at his Florida home,” says a source. “In political circles, Elle is Andrew’s arm candy – but in her own world, she is extremely powerful, despite her earthmother beliefs.”

BUSINESS SPLIT

Sydney-born Elle was even willing to go to war with one of her oldest friends to keep her green-powder supplement empire from crumbling.

The supermodel is engaged in a legal battle with her Welleco co-founder, Perthbased bestie Andrea Horwood.

According to court papers filed in the WA Supreme Court, Andrea sued Elle and claimed that she and her investors “reneged on a deal to allow [Andrea] to buy more of the company, then sacked her and locked her out of her own office”.

A source tells The Mail On Sunday, “Elle was like an aunt to Andrea’s teenage daughters – she would give them beautiful lingerie and they adored her. They are deeply hurt by what has happened.”

But Elle waves off the incident, saying, “Business is a journey. Some things fall together and sometimes they fall apart. Things evolve.”

However, insiders say she doesn’t leave her personal life up to such fate or chance.

Sources tell Woman’s Day she is “consumed” by everything she puts in or on her body and obsessively monitors her day on a plate.

Last year, a journalist recounted an interesting lunch date with Elle, who loudly blessed her own food.

“Our salads arrive and [Elle] takes her plate into her hands, looking down into it. At first I think she is speaking to me as she says, ‘Thank you universe, for this beautiful food. I am so blessed to be here sharing with you.’ I start to answer her before I realise she hasn’t finished. ‘Thank you for giving me your time today. Thank you for this magnificent food which mother Earth has provided for us’.”

The model boasts that she hasn’t tasted a drop of alcohol for 15 years and “swears by her micro-sprout dealer” and her mostly raw, vegan diet.

She sticks to this religiously despite the mirth of her sons, who have since asked for their own refrigerator separate to hers because it smells too “green”, and they tell Australian Vogue that she “nags” them to drink more green juice and water.

“My mother is a perfectionist, I don’t think that’s a secret,” says Flynn. “It’s one of her greatest qualities. Everything she does has to be up to scratch.”

Despite her determination for everything to be perfect, Elle’s love-life has seen its fair share of ups and downs.

In 2016 she split from billionaire Jeffrey Soffer, and scored $79 million of his fortune. It’s believed the pair are barely on speaking terms, though she remains close with his teenage daughters.

In contrast, she’s extremely close with her first husband Arki Busson for the sake of their sons, and they often holiday together as a family.

HAPPINESS AT LAST?

She’s said to be besotted with Andrew despite him having some controversial beliefs.

His business partner Polly Tommey says, “Elle is such a sweetheart. She’s got him on these shakes now for his lunch and dinner. They are really, really happy together.

“He’s deliriously in love and we are all thrilled about that.”
