MEGHAN & HARRY ‘NO MORE SOCIAL MEDIA!’
They haven’t posted on their Sussex Royal account for almost a year, and now continuous trolling and “hate” has finally got the better of Harry and Meghan. Insiders say the power couple have quit social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, and while their royal Instagram account boasts over 10.4 million followers, it looks unlikely they’ll return to it anytime soon.
It’s believed the Sussexes have “no plans” to promote their new Archewell Foundation on social media, and a royal insider tells Woman’s Day their reluctance is causing major headaches for their struggling PR team. “Harry and Meghan refuse to speak to most of mainstream media but expect their team to ensure they make headlines everywhere,” says the source.
“They don’t want to use social media, but they want the good PR of other people posting about their charity endeavours.
It’s a lot of work.”
Prince Andrew has been rattling around Royal Lodge at Windsor largely alone for the past year, aside from the company of his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
But that’s all about to change, with his heavily pregnant daughter Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank moving in before the birth – which is tipped to be any day.
This comes after the young couple was unceremoniously and mysteriously turfed out of Frogmore Cottage, which they were believed to be sub-leasing from Eugenie’s cousin Prince Harry.
“Their cottage at Kensington Palace just wasn’t big enough for them and a baby,” says a source. “So when Frogmore fell through, they were essentially homeless. Andrew agreed to have them stay, but it was fairly grudgingly. He never expected to have a caterwauling infant in his home at age 60, even if it is his own flesh and blood.”
Making matters harder for Andrew is Eugenie, 30, apparently demanding her old man pay for household help – including a nanny and a night nurse – to help her raise the little one.
“She also wants her father to foot the bill for a proper family home, which he ordinarily wouldn’t hesitate to do,” says a source. “But his every move and spend is under the microscope, thanks to all his scandals, so he’s basically resigned himself to the fact that Eugenie, Jack and the baby will be around for a while.”
