WHEN’S UNCLE HARRY COMING HOME?

The Cambridge kids are pining for William’s brother

-

In 2017, Prince Harry spoke of his love for his niece and nephew, describing Prince George and Princess Charlotte as “the most amazing things ever”.

His gifts to them were legendary, including an electric SUV for George, seven, and a top-of-the-line tricycle for Charlotte, five.

Even Prince Louis, two, received a first edition of Winnie The Pooh worth more than $10,000.

But since he married their Aunty Meghan, 39, welcomed cousin Archie, 21 months, moved to the US and quit the family he once held so dear, the Cambridge children’s playtime with Harry is but a distant memory.

‘WHERE’S MY UNCLE?’

And sources tell Woman’s Day that George, who turns eight in July, has begun asking after his 36-year-old uncle in recent weeks.

“He is old enough to remember all the amazing times he had with Harry, but he doesn’t understand why Uncle H had to move away,” says a royal insider. “Charlotte seems more interested in where Archie is. She only met him a couple of times but understood he was her cousin. She wants him to come over and play, which breaks the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s heart.

“They’re glad their kids have each other, but they both grew up with so many happy memories of playing with their cousins, so they’re sad their own children will miss out on that if Harry and Meghan keep up their estrangement, especially now the Sussexes are expecting another little one.”

‘Kate fears the kids are picking up the tension and sadness’

Our source says George’s sweet plea to see his uncle “has tugged at Kate’s heartstrings – and left her a little worried about her kids”. “There’s a lot going on in the Cambridge household at the minute. William and Kate are dealing with the fallout of Harry and Meghan’s statement that basically insulted the Queen, and Prince Philip’s hospitalisation has them all concerned,” says the insider. “George and Charlotte are very keen little listeners and Prince Louis isn’t far behind them. Kate fears they’re picking up on the tension and sadness of their parents. “She also has longerterm fears that her children will be lone royals in their generation, given that Harry’s kids don’t have royal titles. The workload on her three when they’re older will be immense without cousins to share it with.”
