It’s fourth time lucky down the aisle for the TV star
He once claimed he was married to his career, but Jamie Durie has revealed he’s now tying the knot for real with his singer girlfriend Ameka Jane.
“She said Yes,” the former House Rules host gushed in an Instagram post on February 27 announcing their engagement. “Thank you to my beautiful @amekajane for turning my life upside-down. I couldn’t be happier. Magic night for a magic girl.”
Given his green thumb, it was only fitting that the gardening guru popped the question at sunset with a show-stopping floral arrangement spelling out “Marry me”!

And lucky Ameka, 33, also scored a custom engagement ring from Instinct jewellers, featuring argyle champagne diamonds and green asscher cut sapphires.
“The stones were chosen for sentiment and we think it turned out great,” the jeweller shared on social media.
It’s no wonder the model, who also runs lifestyle blog The Soul Sisters, was wowed.
“That’s a BIG YES! My beautiful man, my heart is full. Thank you for coming into my life and loving me just as I am,” she wrote on Instagram to her celeb man. “Let’s do this!”
But she has to get Jamie down the aisle first! After all, the 50-year-old has been engaged three times before, but never married.
“You’ve gotta try, don’t you?!” Jamie has joked of his false-start fiancees, admitting his work often took priority over his private life. “I’ve always been career-focused and maybe some of my relationships have suffered because of that,” he says.
“I’ve had some amazing relationships with women, but life is a constant rollercoaster and I guess you get better at knowing how to make a bigger effort when it’s needed.”
And it seems Jamie’s all-in with Ameka, a fellow Aussie who he went public with in November last year. The couple have plenty in common, and reportedly met while both living and working in LA.
She’s now focusing on singing, but Ameka previously worked as a fashion stylist and, like Jamie, doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty with a bit of DIY.
“Jamie and I are incredibly happy together and very glad we found each other,” Ameka gushed when confirming her romance with the one-time Backyard Blitz host last year.

Michelle Glennock, has even hinted he has plans for a family with the model.
“I’m looking forward to having some more babies,” he says. “At least two.”
The clucky star says after more than a decade of dividing his time between Australia and the US, he’s ready to put down permanent roots and settle in Oz with his new bride-to-be – and their future bubs!
“I got a bit homesick – I feel like at this stage of life I want to be home more and be around my family and friends,” he says. “I’m excited. I’m so grateful for where my life is at.”
