Despite their split, the proud parents remain united to raise their daughter
Jessica Marais’ home in Perth was no doubt packed to the rafters last week when her ex, James Stewart, and their daughter Scout ew from Sydney for a very welcome visit.
e pair looked happy and relaxed at Perth airport, with a blonde lady believed to be Jess’ sister Clara seen dropping them o , before James stopped for sel es with fans also in transit.
e visit marks the rst time the pair have been seen in Perth since Woman’s Day exclusively revealed earlier this year that former TV WEEK Gold Logie winner Jess, 39, has traded in her acting career and has been living in Western Australia since 2022.

e former actress has been living in her late mother’s Mosman Park home and spending time with her sister Clara, her brother-in-law and their two children.
James and Scout, 11, are still living in Sydney, but sources say James and Jess are in a “really good place right now” and that they are “completely dedicated to raising Scout” and being the best co-parents they can for her.
While James and Jess do their best to co-parent, it’s believed James has sadly split from his wife, actress Sarah Roberts, who has removed her weddings rings and hasn’t been spotted with James since early 2023.
e regular visits from her daughter and ex are no doubt a delight for Jess, who has had a di cult few years. In 2020, the actress, who su ers from bipolar disorder, was hospitalised following a welfare check by emergency services and she has previously sought treatment at a mental health facility in Bronte.
Jess was also forced to pull out of several acting projects in recent years to focus on her mental health, before quietly stepping away from the limelight. However, James, 48, has always stepped up when it comes to being a dad to Scout and the soap star admits being a father is his greatest role yet.
“[Fatherhood] made me a better man, that’s for sure,” James said. “I’m more patient, I’m kinder, more attentive, more involved and passionate about life, way more protective and caring.”
But he knows that it’s important for Scout to spend time with her mum and it seems as though the actor is becoming quite fond of WA. He recently took on a role as ambassador at the Seven Mandurah Crab Fest in WA, suggesting he might be keen to
nd more work in the state since he and Scout are spending so much time there. Only time will tell if he and Jess become closer still...
