Billie Eilish?

EASY US

-

“I’ve always been really stoic. I never tell people when I’m in pain, and I’ve always been in some sort of pain.” These are the words of teenager Billie Eilish in an interview with The New York Times, in which she talks about her body being “prone to injuries.” Eilish also speaks of her psychological pain, which she has channeled into her music this year to become the youngest person ever to win all four major Grammy categories — Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year — at the same time.

Eilish, 18, was born into a family of musicians in Los Angeles, California. Her parents, who are also actors, homeschooled Billie and her older brother, Finneas, and encouraged their interest in the arts. She and Finneas often worked on music together, and in 2015, Eilish recorded a song her brother had written called “Ocean Eyes.” She released it online and became a star.

Four years later, Eilish’s first album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, went straight to No. 1 in the US, and this year, her recording of the James Bond theme song “No Time to Die” became her first No. 1 in the UK.

Known for her dark lyrics and music videos, Eilish is now working on her second album with Finneas, who described it to the pop culture website Vulture as “experimental.”
