AJW Aviation to rebrand Azerbaijan airline’s entire fleet

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has selected UK A J Walter Aviation (AJW) and British Airways Engineerin­g for providing power-by-thehour component support for its new fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft which will commence flight operations in 2014. AJW and British Airways Engineerin­g will provide extensive component supply, inventory management and repair services.

Azerbaijan Airlines has an order to purchase two Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The cost of each is $90 million. The country will be the first in Central Asia to receive these aircraft.

AZAL, the biggest Azerbaijan­i airline and national flag carrier, offers passenger flights to countries in Europe, the CIS, Middle East and Asia. After purchasing new Boeing aircraft for long-haul flights in 2014, the airline plans to open regular flights to destinatio­ns in North America and South-East Asia.

It cooperates with about 60 airlines to provide its passengers with the opportunit­y to travel freely around the world.

AZAL was certified by IATA Operationa­l Safety Audit, a program that is an internatio­nally recognized evaluation system designed to assess the operationa­l management and control systems of an airline.
