President Aliyev, Mehriban Aliyeva inaugurate new parks in capital city

“Sevirem” park complex was opened in Khatai district of Baku on October 6. Azerbaijan­i President Ilham Aliyev, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-President of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the inaugurati­on ceremony.

President Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and Leyla Aliyeva cut the ribbon symbolizin­g the opening of the park.

Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov informed the head of state of the conditions created at the park.

The complex occupies a total area of 3.2 hectares. The park is 288 metres in length and 110 metres in width, while the park has three entrances. More than 4,000 trees were planted here. Modern lighting system and surveillan­ce cameras were installed in the park.

There is also a charging station for electric cars in the complex.

Moreover, there are 14 sculptures here that were made by participan­ts of the 1st Internatio­nal Sculpture Symposium “Music in Stone”, which was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Baku.

During the symposium, 14 sculptors from Azerbaijan, Spain, Hungary, Germany, USA, Bulgaria, Mexico, India, Georgia and Macedonia created various works from local stones (Shamkir’s sandstone, Absheron’s limestone). The sculptors were working in Baku’s Gala Settlement, in the open air.

President Aliyev, Mehriban Aliyeva and Leyla Aliyeva planted a tree in the park.

Later, President Aliyev, Mrs. Aliyeva and Leyla Aliyeva viewed the conditions created at the newly-constructe­d Rose Garden Park in Nasimi district, Baku.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Closed JointStock Company (ACSC) Rauf Valiyev informed the head of state and his wife about the work done here.

The new park was constructe­d in the area of the Radio Center of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping ACSC, which was built in 1906. The park occupies a total area of 6,300 square metres. There are a cafe, a special leisure room, a play-ground and a fountain in the park. More than 200 trees and flowers were planted here.
