Lithuanian universities present education opportunities in Baku
Lithuania is keen to attract more Azerbaijani students to its higher education institutions taking into account the increasing dynamics in demand in this country.
Azerbaijan is considered as one of the most promising markets for the Lithuanian higher education institutions, wishing to attract foreign students, Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Valdas Lastauskas said.
He made this statement at a reception organized in honor of representatives of Lithuanian universities and Education Exchanges Support Foundation on October 6.
The diplomat said that the number of young Azerbaijanis, who choose Lithuanian universities as their alma mater, is growing annually.
“Some 53 Azerbaijani students enrolled in Lithuania in 2011/12 academic year, while their number reached 102 in 2012/13 and exceeded 300 in 2015,” he said.
Lastauskas noted that a considerable part of Azerbaijani students took advantage of the state grants offered by the Lithuanian government.
In recent years the Azerbaijani youth had shown increased interest in studying in Lithuania and their number grows every year, he added.
Prestigious Lithuanian universities presented their education opportunities within the 10th International Exhibition "Education and Career" held in Baku on October 7-9. Eight leading universities, including Vilnius University, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University , Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuanian Pedagogical University, Academy of Music and Theatre, showed their education opportunities to the Azerbaijani youth.
Representatives of the Lithuanian universities presented visitors undergraduate, graduate, MBA, doctorate, second education, as well as foreign language courses for business communication program, practice and training programs.
In total, 118 educational institutions from 14 countries took part in the three-day exhibition held in the capital city.
The education exhibition featured universities and colleges from Azerbaijan, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary and Jordan, which acquainted visitors with the education programs in the institutions they represent.
Other national stands at the exhibition featured Poland (Go Poland), Lithuania (Study in Lithuania) and Turkey (Study in Turkey).
