Shahdag among most-popular tourist destinations for winter

As the Christmas and winter holiday season approaches, more and more people began to look for destination to spend their year-end holidays.

Azerbaijan can suggest tourists a number of such wonderful places, including the Shahdag resort as one of the most famous resorts in the world. Active all over the year, the resort is listed among the most advanced construction projects not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the world.

Recently, the Shahdag Winter Summer Tourism Complex entered the rating of ten most affordable popular places, including ski resorts, for the New Year's holiday Day.az reports.

Thus, the Shahdag resort listed second in the ranking, leaving behind Georgian, Bulgarian and other resorts. The rating was prepared by the Russian TurStat agency.

TurStat calculated the cost of flight from Moscow and one overnight in a cheap in-resort hotel.

According to the ranking, the cost of resting in Shahdag makes up some $282, which is cheaper than in Georgian Gudauri ($290) and Bulgarian Pamporovo ($322) ski resorts.

Among the reasons to choose Shahdag as this winter’s holiday destination is also its novelty, positive feedback from tourists, as well as the fact that the resort is still not overcrowded with tourists.

The Shahdag complex is located at the north of Azerbaijan, in 30 km from the town of Gusar. It stands 2,500 meters above sea level and serves as an outstanding getaway with its rich nature, fresh air, and wonderful climate.

The temperatures at Shahdag ranges from winter lows of -20°C to pleasant summer evenings of 20°C.

There are brand new hotels such as Zirva, Park Chalet, Gaya Residence, and PIK Palace that meet modern international standards and are stylishly designed to ensure maximum comfort for the visitors.
