ITA, the Italian Trade Agency – Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy to Baku, participates at the 22nd BakuBuild 2016 edition, for the second time. BakuBuild is a crucial professional event in construction and architecture, design and reconstruction, as well as a business platform to define the key elements in the construction business in Azerbaijan.

This year, the exhibition, which includes over 400 companies from more than 23 countries, will occupy all 3 pavilions of the Baku Expo Centre and Italy will have a national display booth with 17 Italian companies on a total exhibition space of 230 sq.m. The Italian participation will be focused on the following sectors: interior design products, marble/ceramic coverings, building technologies, sanitaryware and roofing materials.

The Italian Pavilion Area will be easily reachable and located nearby the entrance of the Expo Centre where the visitors will be able to visit the best of “Made in Italy” in the specific sectors ready to compete for international challenges. ITA will assist the Italian companies with a specific communication program, advertising and a business lounge area is provided for hosting b2b meetings, between the Italian exhibitors and a delegation of specifier architects from the main architecture firm of Georgia.

Italy is the first partner of Azerbaijan in terms of bilateral interexchange and while the “Oil & Gas” remains the first sector of local economy, the building sector offers relevant market development op- portunities. The projects for developing “Baku City Plan” represent the major opportunities together with all the current private building projects whereas the Italian high competencies in Interior Design and Technologies are well appreciated.

Construction sector is one of the most promising sectors in Azerbaijani economy. Every year there are new construction and infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan and its different regions. Projects like “Baku White City”, “Baku-TbilisiKars” railway, construction of new metro stations in Baku, and many other target programs are just a small part of the future development of construction sector.

Despite the fact that, the economic slowdown has hit many sectors of economy, including the construction sector in Azerbaijan, the Government does not stop its support to the projects in this sector. It means huge amount of investments will be forwarded to different projects, especially to those of national importance. For instance, more than a thousand residential buildings will be reconstructed in the regions of Baku. This kind of projects is supported by decrees and different legal documents in Azerbaijan.

The Italian companies are wellknown for their high quality of services and reliability in partnership. Italian equipment and products are welcomed in Azerbaijan, because they meet the high international standards. The long-term partnership between Italian and Azerbaijani companies will continue on the same level for new and better ambitious joining projects.
