Azerbaijan opposes promotion of separatist regime at OSCE

Another anti-Azerbaijani propaganda was carried out at the recent OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM), which took place in Warsaw on September 19-30n thus causing fair displeasure of the Azerbaijani delegation.
“Azerbaijan regrets that during the OSCE HDIM, some delegations once again misused their participation for promotion and propaganda of the illegal separatist regime established by Armenia in the occupied Azerbaijani territories,” said the delegation in its statement issued on October 13 at the OSCE Permanent Council’s special meeting.
The Armenian separatist regime was forcibly created in the occupied Azerbaijani lands by ignoring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. This led to countless victims among the Azerbaijanis, predominantly populating NagornoKarabakh region. More than a million of Azerbaijanis had to leave their homes because of facing Armenian bloody politics.
“This was accompanied by ethnic cleansing, war crimes and crimes against humanity,” the statement said. These terrible crimes were repeatedly mentioned in the international community.
“The participation of non-governmental organizations associated with and actively promoting the illegal separatist regime can by no means be in line with the principles that the OSCE stands for and therefore, diametrically contrary to the very aim of HDIM,” the Azerbaijani delegation stressed.
It is clearly stated in the OSCE Helsinki Document of 1992 that nongovernmental organizations, which resort to the use of violence or openly condone terrorism or the use of violence should not be allowed to participate in OSCE events. The Azerbaijani delegation complained on ignoring this article of the Document.
“We reiterate that admission of NGOs propagating separatism to HDIMs is unacceptable and must be ceased. Otherwise, this will further undermine the very credibility of this event,” the delegation’s statement concluded.
Armenia captured NagornoKarabakh and seven surrounding regions from Azerbaijan in a war that followed the Soviet breakup in 1991. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and nearly 1 million were displaced as a result of the war.
