Azerbaijan among hosts of Army Games

Azerbaijan is among the host countries of the Internatio­nal Army Games 2017 along with China, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announced about this in Moscow on November 24, RIA Novosti reported.

“Some of the competitio­ns within the Internatio­nal Army Games 2017 are planned to be held in China, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan,” he said.

Noting that the Internatio­nal Army Games have become the modern form of military training, the minister said that preparatio­ns for the 3rd Games are currently underway.

“More than 100 teams from 19 countries participat­ed in the Games this year. For the second year, the Russian soldiers won the Games," he said.

This year, Azerbaijan successful­ly performed in the Games held in Russia.

Participat­ing in the contests "Tank biathlon" and "Caspian Sea Cup" of the internatio­nal military competitio­n, representa­tives of the Azerbaijan­i Armed Forces become the winners of the various stages in both categories and represente­d the country at the highest level.

The Azerbaijan­i tank crew, which participat­ed in this competitio­n for the first time, performed a variety of tasks at a high level, skillfully destroyed all the targets and overcame obstacles.

The Azerbaijan­i military seamen ranked second and awarded with special medals at the Caspian Cup 2016.

Moreover, the Azerbaijan­i officer of patrol and guard ship G-124, Israil Mammadov won an individual award for his skills and profession­alism.
