“Ilham Aliyev. Portrait of the President on the background of changes” book presented in Baku

Abook entitled "Ilham Aliyev. Portrait of the President on the background of changes" by MP, writer, honored journalist Elmira Akhundova was held in Baku on November 30.

The book was published in the Russian language by the publishing house "Political Encyclopedia" in Moscow.

The presentation ceremony was attended by Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, Azerbaijani president’s aide for public and political affairs, Ali Hasanov, Head of Foreign Relations Department Novruz Mammadov, officials, MPs, scientists and public figures.

President of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Akif Alizadeh, addressing the event, spoke about the importance of the book. He emphasized that Elmira Akhundova has successfully coped with the goal, and she was able to create an original portrait of the President.

“Akhundova states about one of the most pragmatic political figures of the former Soviet Union, Ilham Aliyev, in a clear manner, a simple and clear language based on facts and materials, analyzes phenomenon of his success,” he said.

The author pays a lot of attention to this continuity, tells about the impact of Heydar Aliyev on Ilham Aliyev and emphasizes independence of the current president as a statesman.

Addressing the ceremony Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan Republic, Academician Urkhan Alekperov, said the book fully reflects the purposeful policy of President Aliyev and the ongoing work on the comprehensive development of Azerbaijan.

The academician noted that this work can be considered a very reliable source for the future research.

MP Akhundova, for her part, noted that the purpose of the book is to inform the wider foreign audience about Azerbaijan and its leader.

She expressed her gratitude to Ramiz Mehdiyev for his assistance in the creation of the book.

The author, talking to reporters, voiced gladness that the book "Ilham Aliyev. Portrait of the President on the background of changes" is on sale at the biggest bookstores in a number of Russian cities including Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod.

“A number of foreign publishers have already been interested in the book and are eager to re-publish it," Akhundova said.

"I tried to convey interesting moments to the readers in a simple and publicistic style," she added.

The book is a logical continuation of six-volume work of Elmira Akhundova 'Heydar Aliyev: Personality and Epoch', for which the writer was awarded the State Prize in literature two years ago. The book also shows how the successor of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev came to power, and what he achieved during his term of presidency.
