Baku, Islamabad strengthening business opportunities
Azerbaijan and Pakistan vow to expand their cooperation as the sides are determined to have larger interaction in the fields of energy and trade, as well as agriculture, pharmaceutical and textile industry.
The recent fruitful visit of Commerce Minister of Pakistan Khurram Dastgir Khan to Baku well reflected the intention of enhancing and strengthening business connections and relations with between the two friendly countries.
During the visit the Pakistani minister held several meetings with Azerbaijani officials and attended the joint business forum.
President Ilham Aliyev received Dastgir Khan on December 5, where the sides hailed the importance of expanding energy and trade relations, and cooperation in the field of agriculture, pharmaceutical and textile industry between the two countries.
Recalling with pleasure Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain's and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's visits to Azerbaijan, the head of state hailed these visits as successful and fruitful.
He noted the importance of these visits in terms of strengthening current brotherly relations between the two countries.
President Aliyev also underlined a good opportunity for the two countries' relevant ministries to hold practical meetings in order to develop bilateral trade, investment making, and identify business opportunities.
In turn, Dastgir Khan, emphasized that PM Sharif was satisfied with his visit to Azerbaijan. The minister said he traveled to Azerbaijan immediately after Mr. Sharif's visit on the instructions of the Prime Minister, saying there are significant issues relating to the development of bilateral relations to work on.
The Azerbaijani-Pakistani Business Meeting discussed significant cooperation issues, with participation of about 80 businessmen representing Pakistan's leading companies specializing in food, textile, pharmaceutical and sports equipment industries.
