IDEA holds first laboratory training session of 2017
The Ecological Laboratory for Children, a joint project successfully carried out in 2015 2016 by IDEA Public Union and “Sevimli Bala”, held its first laboratory training session of the year.
Both the Arctic and the Antarctic of Earth are undergoing unprecedented changes as a result of manmade climate change. Therefore, the first eco-lab session of the year focused on teaching children about these most sensitive ecosystems in the world.
The children were informed about the North and South poles, their geographical location, harsh environment and native plants and animals.
Further, out little environmentalists participated in fun lab experiments, and especially enjoyed creating the Northern Lights effect and learning how auroras occur forming beautiful colors and patterns.
Apart from being a day full of fun and learning, the session has been a great contribution to children’s knowledge about the threat of glaciers melting in the Arctic and Antarctic, and human responsibility for climate change.
The Ecological Laboratory for Children being carried for three years now, providing opportunities and resources to extend the children’s knowledge and awareness of the environment.
