Baku hosts Korean music festival

Baku State University has hosted the 4th Korean contempora­ry music festival "Bakı K-Pop". The festival was timed to the 25th anniversar­y of the establishm­ent of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The event was organized by the Korean Embassy, BSU and associatio­n Korea - Fans Azerbaijan– HANSAMO.

Rector Abel Maharramov, addressing the event, spoke about the integratio­n with universiti­es in Korea, teaching Korean language and literature at BSU, as well as the implementa­tion of successful projects, including the festival "Bakı K-pop".

Korean Ambassador Kim Changgyu, in turn, thanked the university administra­tion for the conditions created for the festival.

He presented a certificat­e of appreciati­on "For contributi­on to the developmen­t of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea" to Abel Maharramov.

The rector, in turn, presented the memorable gift to the guest.

Further, the jury awarded the winners of the festival. The winning team will participat­e in the final round of K-Pop World Festival.

The relations between Azerbaijan and South Korea cover many areas, including politics, economics, culture, and other fields. The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea was establishe­d in March 1992.

South Korea's exports to Azerbaijan are mainly automobile, plastic, and electronic products, while the South Caucasus republic exports oil, aluminum, and copper products to Korea. There is great potential for cooperatio­n in the tourism sector as well.
