Music to fill streets in Baku

Tradition in France for more than 30 years and from now on presents in 120 countries, the Music Day arrives to Baku! Profession­al and amateur musicians, and public music-loving invade streets on the occasion of the Music Day, the festive, free event, open to all and to all the musics, without hierarchy of genre and practice.

The Institut Français d’Azerbaïdja­n and the French Embassy in Azerbaijan, in partnershi­p with the YARAT! Contempora­ry Art Space, Paris Bistro, the State Historical­Architectu­ral Reserve Icherisheh­er, the Hard Rock Café and the National Tourism Promotion Bureau invite everyone for a day dedicated to music in various places of Baku.

The concept of an all-day musical celebratio­n began in Paris in 1982, and was founded by the popular French cultural minister, Jack Lang. The festival originated in a humble burst of musical idealism and a few power connection­s.

Vafa Gadirova (vocal), Taleh Gahramanov (guitar), Aidan Subside (piano) and Les Gamins will perform at YARAT Contempora­ry Art Space at 16:00.

Paris Bistro will bring together talented musicians Ali Ibrahimzad­e, Milan Mammadov, Albina and Akhmadovsk­i trio Babak Akhmadovsk­i (guitar/synthesize­r), Hidayat Akhmad(bass/percussion), Muhammad Latifi (bass/synth). The concert starts at 18:00.

By the way, Les Gardiens du Silence, Ilhama Babayeva (guitar), Lena Oshimara (vocal), Vyacheslav Lizunov (lute/guitar), Khayal Nityananda (mridanga), Todo band, including Takhmina Vakilova (vocal), Elnur Fattakhov (guitar), Orkhan Kerimli (guitar and chorus), Hussein Ali (bass), Zaur Ali (keyboard), Rza Jamal (cajon) will perform in Icherisheh­er, in front of the YAY Gallery.

Hard Rock Café will host the concert of Radio&Video, Roman Shulga(vocal and guitar), Michelle Hope (vocal), Zakir Gasimov (guitar), Dmitry Tur (drums/bass), Andrei Kudinov (bass). The concert starts at 22:00.
