Youth Film Festival fast approaches

Azerbaijan’s Youth Film Festival announced acceptance of applicatio­ns for the next edition of the festival.

The Festival is an opportunit­y for filmmakers in Azerbaijan under the age of 25 to win prizes and have their short films screened on the big screen, Day. Az reported.

Founded in 2012, the festival aims to encourage youth to learn basic filmmaking skills, and to promote Azerbaijan’s filmmaking industry.

Young directors need to send short films until August 21 in one of three categories: Short Narrative, Documentar­y, or Music Video. Films should be shorter than 9 minutes and should follow theme for this year: Tell your story.

All movies should be filmed after 2015. The winners from each category will be selected separately among profession­als (9 winners) and fans (9 winners).The prize will be also given for the best acting skills. In early September, everyone will be invited to attend festival screening in Baku. The festival will feature both short and full length films from Azerbaijan and America.
