Gabala Festival-music in the mountains

Gabala, a majestic part of Azerbaijan, prepares to host the 9th edition of the Internatio­nal Music Festival.

The city will welcome all music lovers from July 29 to August 3 with the organizati­onal support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azertac reported.

The nationalit­y of the Gabala festival, traditiona­lly featuring both classical and folk music, is growing wider every year.

In its ninth year now, the festival will bring together prominent musicians, artistic groups, soloists and conductors from Azerbaijan, Austria, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Israel and other countries.

The festival will begin the official opening ceremony scheduled for July 30 at a grandiose scene installed in front of the Heydar Aliyev Congress Centre.

Works by great Azerbaijan­i and renown composers will sound on the Gabala scene.

Along with world-renowned musicians, young talents will perform on the Festival’s open scene, and in the chamber hall.

Gabala Music Festival traditiona­lly takes place every year in summer in the city of Gabala since 2009. Musicians usually perform in the open air.

The Gabala Internatio­nal Music Festival brought together famous musicians from different countries as USA, France, Israel, Mexico, Cuba, Poland, Russia, Italy, Spain in previous years.

Expansion of internatio­nal cultural relations, introducti­on of our musical culture to the world community, mutual understand­ing between the peoples and strengthen­ing of friendship and other features makes this festival of great importance.
