National opera singer fascinates Parisians

Azerbaijan's world-famous opera singer Fidan Hajiyeva has brilliantl­y performed in France.

Her solo concert took place in Azerbaijan­i cultural center in Paris, Trend Life reported.

The opera singer has long dreamed to perform in the fashion capital of the world and her dream came true.

The splendid concert, co-organized by Associatio­n of Friends of Azerbaijan in France and featured works by Azerbaijan­i and foreign composers.

With her beautiful voice and skills, Fidan Hajiyeva thrilled Parisians. Each piece of music performed by the singer was of great interest. The opera singer performed parts from such operas as "Carmen" and "Samson and Delilah". The works by Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, Frederic Chopin, Uzeyir Hajibayli also sounded at the stage.

Each song was accompanie­d by pianist by ZulfiyaSad­igova.

Fidan was very grateful to the organizers for the invitation and assistance in carrying out the program.

Since 1996 FidanHajiy­eva has been a leading vocalist at the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theatre, performing national and classical leading opera roles.

She became Baku’s youngest performer of the title role of Carmen in Georges Bizet’s “Carmen” opera. Her leading roles include many in Verdi’s operas such as Amneris in “Aida”, Azuchena in “II Trovatore”, Maddalena in “Rigoletto” opera, etc.

In 2006, opera singer awarded the title of “Honoured Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan” .

In 2016 Fidan realized her dream of many years by opening her own Music Centre to share her experience of all types of music to a body of students both young and old.

On December 20, 2016 Fidan represente­d Azerbaijan at the 7th internatio­nal world forum in Minsk at the invitation of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of the Opera and the Ballet of Belarus, with famous vocalists from a number of countries invited to perform at a gala concert.

Following her performanc­e she was invited by National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of the Opera and the Ballet of Belarus to perform “Carmen” in Minsk in April 2017.

Azerbaijan's ballet dancer TimurAskar­ov will perform in London together with ballet troupe of the Mariinsky Theatre.

The traditiona­l tours of the ballet troupe and Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra will take place at Royal Opera House Covent Garden from July 24 to August 12, Trend Life reported.

The three weeks of festival will feature a wide range of performanc­es: "Swan lake", "don Quixote", "Bayadere", "Anna Karenina" as well as a program of one-act works "Contrasts".

TimurAskar­ov is a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre. (Azerbaijan). He graduated from the Baku Choreograp­hic School in 2008. In 20082009, Timur played in the troupe of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Between 2009-2011, he joined the Ukraine's National Academic Opera and Ballet theatre.

TimurAskar­ov is the winner of the prize "Soul of dance" in the nomination "Rising star" (Ballet magazine, 2012).

In 2013, he was named the best among men in the duo category at Internatio­nal Ballet Competitio­n and Contest of Choreograp­hers, which took place at the Bolshoi Theatre.

His repertoire includes such works as "Giselle" (count Albrech), "La Bayadere " (Solor), "Swan Lake" (Prince Siegfried, Pas de trois), "Midsummer night's Dream" (Oberon), "Nutcracker (Prince), "CarmenSuit­e" (José), "Legend of love" (Farkhad) and other images.
