First VP Mehriban Aliyeva: Our independent policy will continue
First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva attended a ceremony to give out new apartments to IDP families as three new buildings were commissioned in Masazir settlement, Absheron district on October 5.
The buildings were constructed as part of the project aimed at providing IDP families temporarily settled in buildings in emergency state with new apartments.
Addressing the ceremony, Mehriban Aliyeva provided an insight into the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Saying the Azerbaijanis were forced to live as refugees and IDPs as a result of the conflict, First VP added that President Ilham Aliyev highlights the conflict in his speeches both in bilateral meetings and in international organizations.
“Today Azerbaijan is a powerful and strong state. We pursue independent policy. Today Azerbaijan has its own say, and protects its position,” said Mehriban Aliyeva.
Today large construction works are underway in the republic, First VP added.
“They speak out about the modernization of Baku, beauty of our capital city, its cleanness and renovation not only in the country, but also abroad. The development works go not only in Baku, but in every region, and every province. New schools, hospitals, sports complexes are built, residential areas are gasified, the problems of people are solved and new chances are opened for them," the First Vice-President underlined.
Mrs. Aliyeva went on to say that Azerbaijan marches along the path of development and progress.
"Our independent policy will be continued. We see our achievements. And perceive our power. We also have to realize that if our friends are happy with our successes, our enemies are not and undertake every mean action. We are not afraid of this, and go straightly forward. I would once again state that for President Ilham Aliyev the interests of the Azerbaijani people are above everything and we will not turn out this way," Aliyeva stressed.
All the apartments underwent major repair and were supplied with necessary equipment as well as with gas, water and electricity. Extensive landscaping was done, green areas were created in the yards of the buildings.
The IDPs from Lachin and Aghdam regions stressed the government's attention and thanked First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for implementing this kind of projects.
The first vice-president then viewed the apartments.
Mehriban Aliyeva was informed that two of three buildings feature 80 apartments and the third has 50 apartments.
First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva viewed an apartment of an IDP from Lachin region, Innaf Najafova. She thanked President Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the conditions created for them.
On the same day Mehriban Aliyeva viewed a new building for IDP families in Ramana settlement, Sabunchu district.
The building was constructed as part of the project aimed at providing IDP families temporarily settled in buildings in emergency state with new apartments. The construction work started in March 2017.
Mehriban Aliyeva praised the conditions created in the building. The first vice-president was informed that 50 IDP families living in buildings in emergency state in Khatai district and Sarigaya residential area will be resettled here.
Following this, First Vice-President viewed conditions created at a new building of Gubadli district Khanlig village secondary school in Ramana settlement, Sabunchu district.
The school was commissioned in the 2017-2018 academic year. The 196-seat school is designed for children from Gubadli IDP families and residents of surrounding areas.
Mehriban Aliyeva spoke with first-grade pupils of the school. The building was supplied with state-of-the-art equipment. All conditions have been created here.
The first vice-president viewed an IT room. Mehriban Aliyeva viewed photos of pupils from Gubadli district, who scored high points in entrance exams to the universities.
Mehriban Aliyeva met with the school staff and congratulated them on Teachers’ Day.
