Baku in Top 5 CIS cities among Russians

Baku is included in the Top five CIS cities that will popular by Russian tourists at the beginning of November. The Russian website for booking accommodat­ion Tvil.ru has determined which CIS cities and countries Russian tourists will visit for the November holidays, the Culture and Tourism Ministry of Azerbaijan said on October 26. Russia celebrates the Day of National Unity on November 4. In this regard the Russians will enjoy three days off - from November 4 to 6.

Tourists from Russia tourists will visit capital of Azerbaijan on November holidays for 3.5 days on average and spend 2.900 rubles ($500) a day on living, according to Tvil.ru.

The rating is made in accordance with the requests and bookings of hotels, apartments and guest houses for residence from November 3 to 7. Azerbaijan now attracts more and more tourists with its mesmerizin­g beauty to enjoy the mild climate and historical sites. The country is developing its tourism sector by all means, to make it more affordable and comfortabl­e for both local and foreign tourists.

One of the main advantages of Azerbaijan, besides the captivatin­g beauty of the country and hospitable population, is the fact that many people here know Russian and English.

Russian tourists do not need visa to travel to Azerbaijan, which makes the country more attractive. Tourists from neighborin­g Russia were always frequent guests in Azerbaijan and the recent developmen­ts made more Russians to think about Baku when planning their vacations.

As of September, as many as 1.81 million tourists visited Azerbaijan, according to the Ministry.

With approximat­ely 1 million tourists Russia, surpasses the number of tourists from neighborin­g Georgia and Iran.
