The Council of Azerbaijani Youth in Poland and the Unions of Azerbaijanis of Warsaw, Wroclaw, Katowice and Lodz, acting under it, have expressed protest against the organization of illegal tours to NagornoKarabakh by the Polish Adventure Club Radoslaw Kasprzak, Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora informed on June 6.

Thus, the Polish company cancelled illegal tours to the territories of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia. Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Poland played an important role in resolving the issue.

The Council of Azerbaijani Youth in Poland noted that the Azerbaijanis living in Poland will continue the work to bring the truth about the ArmeniaAzerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the Polish public.

Meanwhile, Adventure Club Radoslaw Kasprzak presented to Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Poland an official document on the cancellation of trips to Nagorno-Karabakh.

Names of individuals paying unauthorized visits to NagornoKarabakh and other regions of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia are included in the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's ‘black list.’ The work is constantly carried out to prevent such illegal actions.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding regions. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and over 1 million were displaced as a result of the large-scale hostilities. The 1994 ceasefire agreement was followed by peace negotiations.

Until now, Armenia controls fifth part of Azerbaijan’s territory and rejects implementing four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from NagornoKarabakh and surrounding regions.
