Azerbaijan to jointly produce drones with Israeli Aeronautic­s

Azerbaijan Defense Industry Ministry and the Israeli company Aeronautic­s signed a Protocol of intent on the organizati­on of joint production of a new type of unmanned systems on July 11.

The protocol was signed during the meeting in Baku between the Deputy Defense Industry Minister of Azerbaijan Yahya Musayev and the delegation headed by Aeronautic­s Chairman Yedidia Yaari.

Musayev informed the delegation about the activity of Azerbaijan Defense Industry Ministry.

The meeting also provided informatio­n on the successful activity of the joint venture AZAD Systems, which specialize­s in the production of various drones in Azerbaijan.

Presently, there are 28 military factories operating within the country’s Defense Industry Ministry, which manufactur­e UAVs, mortars of various caliber, their ammunition, machine guns, various sniper rifles of special purpose, armored personnel carriers, automatic grenade launcher complexes, and other weapons and vehicles.

Azerbaijan Defense Industry Ministry has already achieved good results in the production of UAVs. The country's first UAVs Zarba are capable of conducting reconnaiss­ance flights and destroying the enemy’s manpower and light military vehicles.

Along with reconnaiss­ance UAVs, the ministry started the production of next-generation UAVs capable of destroying the enemy’s military equipment and manpower. Moreover, the production of drones with cumulative warhead will start soon.
