President Aliyev: 2019 to be year of accelerated development in Azerbaijan
The next year will be a year of accelerated development in Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said.
He made the remarks in Baku on August 1 at a ceremony to give out apartments and cars to the people disabled in the Karabakh war, Great Patriotic War, the Chernobyl disaster, and families of martyrs
“Thus, our financial capabilities will expand even more, and by using these funds to solve the country's main tasks, infrastructure projects and at the same time and primarily to resolve social issues, we will be able to solve your problems,” the President said.
The social policy in Azerbaijan is one of the priority issues, he said adding that “all our work is designed for the citizens of Azerbaijan.” Nagorno-Karabakh conflict Regarding the country’s sore spot, President Aliyev said that the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has one way: “the territorial integrity of our country must be restored.”
“Nagorno-Karabakh is our ancestral historical land, as evidenced by history, international law and all countries recognize and support the territorial integrity of our country,” the President said.
“Great support to Azerbaijan in connection with the territorial integrity, sovereignty, inviolability of the country’s borders was outlined in the document titled "Partnership Priorities", initialed between the European Union and Azerbaijan last month,” he added.
This is Azerbaijan’s another diplomatic victory, President Aliyev said.
The President noted that if Armenia wants peace, the Armenian soldiers must leave Azerbaijan’s lands.
“Then peace will be established in the region. Then communications between Armenia and Azerbaijan can be adjusted. Then, the geopolitical situation in the region can completely change and a stable peace can be established,” he said.
Otherwise, he stressed, Azerbaijan will continue to pursue the policy of isolation and, by using all means, will further shake Armenia.
“If the Armenian leadership continues to drag out negotiations, we will continue to pursue our policy of isolation and, by using all means, will further shake Armenia,” he said.
The head of state stressed that Azerbaijan also played a significant role in the collapse of the criminal junta regime in Armenia.
“The first blow that shook them and led to the abyss was inflicted two years ago. April battles completely disabled their rotten foundations, and after that the regime of the criminal junta began to go to the abyss. No one should forget this. Two years ago, these battles lasted only 4-5 days, but in spite of this, we liberated from the invaders 2,000 hectares of land and now control thousands of hectares of land. We demonstrated the power of the Azerbaijani army at the military parade held in June.
Today the Azerbaijani army is one of the strongest armies on the world scale in terms of technical equipment, combat capability, and armament; in rare countries there are such opportunities as we have. Our military victories are continuing. In May of this year, as a result of a successful Nakhchivan operation, 11,000 hectares of land were released from the invaders,” he said.
A ceremony to give out apartments and cars to veterans of the Karabakh and Great Patriotic wars, the Chernobyl disabled and families of martyrs was held in Lokbatan settlement, Garadagh district.
