English version of Leyla Aliyeva’s book of poems presented in London
An English version of the book "The World Dissolves like a Dream" by Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, poetess Leyla Aliyeva has been presented at Yunus Emre Cultural Centre in London.
An English version of the book "The World Dissolves like a Dream" by Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, poetess Leyla Aliyeva has been presented at Yunus Emre Cultural Centre in London.
In his opening remarks, ViceChairman at Eurasian Creative Guild Marat Akhmedjanov briefed the event participants on the book.
Composed of 130 poems, the book was translated into English by famous British poets and translators Caroline Walton and Anna Maria Jackson.
The author of the preface is Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Translation Center Afag Masud.
The editor of the publication Caroline Walton hailed the rich Azerbaijani poetry and Leyla Aliyeva’s clear and multifaceted creativity.
Then, she read several verses from the book and answered questions from the audience.
Notably, the book was published by the Hertfordshire Press Publishing House.
In the publication, the poems of the author "Give me strength, my God", "Elegy", "Your are not alone", "Love and Hatred", "I’ve become blind", "My poem", "People", "Do not go", "Baku" etc. are presented to readers for the first time.
