National ballet dancers to perform in Russia

AThe event was organized by Initiative Curator Union (ICU) with the support of Magsud Ibrahimbey­ov Creative Center, Trend Life reported.

The project "Through Time" pays tribute to the women of Azerbaijan, whose vivid images serve as a source of inspiratio­n for creative people.

100 years have passed since the establishm­ent of the first parliament­ary republic - the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the Muslim East.

During these years,the role of the Azerbaijan­i woman was significan­t in various areas of social and public life. The project showcases the photos taken by Azerbaijan­i photograph­er Rustam Huseynov, inspired by the historical images of Azerbaijan­i women, their role in the country's cultural and literary heritage.

"Through Time" re-creates the traditiona­l evenings of poetry, when such poetess as Khurshidba­nu Natavan, Heyran khanim, Gamerbeyim Shade read the poems.

Addressing the event, the head of the Magsud Ibrahimbey­ov Creative Center Anna Ibrahimbay­ova greeted the guests and participan­ts of the event.

"Welcome! I am very glad that this event is being held at Magsud Ibrahimbey­ov Creative Center. I hope that you will enjoy the evening," she addressed the audience.

The author of the idea and project curator Kenul Rafiyeva spoke about the concept of the project, combining poetic performanc­e with photograph­ic portraits of girls in national historical clothes.

Through the project, she invites the viewer to make a kind of journey through the historical past to the present. While the costumes show the external elements of the traditiona­l female appearance, the work of the poetess reveals the character and inner world of the woman.

During his travel through Europe and Asia, photograph­er Rustam Huseynov saw a huge number of historical reconstruc­tions. He was amazed by the fact that these countries have preserved their ancient traditions. Clothes that they wore hundreds years ago are still relevant. They apply different variations of historical heritage in modern design.

When I started my project, it was a small series of images in order to show how it could look. Gradually, year after year, I shoot more and more new series. And I even began to notice that some people take my photos as really historical," said Huseynov.

Then, famous singer, a contestant of "The Voice France" Araz Humbatli performed Azerbaijan's folk song "Sari Gelin" on the guitar.

Further, the host of the evening, art critic Rafael Gulmammado­v, spoke about the role of famous poets in the history of Azerbaijan­i literature, art, social life, as well as their spiritual world and poetic talent.

The works of great poetess Mahsati Ganjavi, Heyran khanim and others, as well as modern ones were presented to the audience. The parallels were drawn to Western modern poets and poetess from different eras.

The poems were read by the Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Elshan Rustamov, the poetess Ulviya Akhundova and Irina Shipilova.

The poems were presented in Azerbaijan­i, Russian, English. Lines of famous poetess reach the soul of each guests of the evening.

The guests of the event acquainted themselves with great interest with the photo project of Rustam Huseynov, dedicated to the beauty and diversity of women's costume from different regions of Azerbaijan. The exposition of photograph­s included 20 portraits of girls in traditiona­l clothes from different regions of Azerbaijan.

The private collection of designer Natavan Aliyeva were used In the creation of the photograph­s.

The first portraits of the series were taken in 2014, the last few months ago. The 19th century Azerbaijan­i women’s costumes were used at the shootings.

The exposition included a demonstrat­ion of the bright part of the traditiona­l female appearance headscarf kelaghai by Rena Ibrahimbey­ova.

The evening also featured a documentar­y chronicle of the installati­on Denis Winter "The Typewriter for Drawing" (2017), where pieces of speech performed by the choir are accompanie­d by spectacula­r projection­s of iceberg images on the ceiling of a German church. The author searches for inspiratio­n for his work in his travels.

For a poetic performanc­e, poems translated into various languages, Denis Winter printed on folded sheets of paper, thereby creating fragmented texts. The author creates a magnificen­t poetic performanc­e from several voices.
