President: Azerbaijan will meet its needs in all types of food products

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited Gakh region on October 28 to partake in the opening of socially important facilities.

The country’s economy will benefit greatly, employment will increase, people will be provided with jobs, and the country will eliminate dependence on imports as a result of government programs, President Aliyev said at the inauguration of Gakh Agropark owned by Ulu Aqro LLC.

“The creation of agroparks in our country is already a state program, this process has gained a wide scope. It is envisaged that by the end of this year, 13 agroparks will start functioning and Gakh Agropark is one of them. In general, it is planned to create 45 agroparks, where thousands, tens of thousands of people will work,” the head of state noted.

The President went on to say that 13 million manats was invested in Gakh Agropark, adding that the public-private partnership is clearly illustrated by the example of Gakh Agropark.

Further, the head of state touched upon the development of agriculture in the country.

“In order to develop agriculture very serious steps are being taken. This is reflected in figures. In the first nine months of this year, growth in agriculture equaled to 4.3 percent. Planned work is carried out in all areas of agriculture, and thus the traditional branches of agriculture are restored — cotton growing, viticulture, tobacco growing, hazelnut growing, cocoon farming, vegetable growing, and other spheres. We must make sure that Azerbaijan will meet its needs in all types of food products. We are approaching this goal,” Ilham Aliyev stressed.

President Aliyev said that a selfemployment program is being implemented in the country, further saying that every year at least 6,000-7,000 people with state support will build their own business and improve wellbeing.

President Aliyev further talked about the implementation of social projects in Gakh.

As part of their visit, the President and the First Lady attended the inauguration of Gakh Silkworm Breeding Station of the Ministry of Agriculture after reconstruction, the inauguration of Yurd Hotel owned by Ulu Yurd LLC, the inauguration of GakhGipchag-Aghyazi road.

Moreover, Azerbaijani President has signed orders on measures to improve the living conditions of the population of Gakh region and on providing initial allocation for the construction of a new school in Alibayli village in Gakh region.

On October 29, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited Shaki region.

The fight against corruption, bribery, led by Azerbaijan, has fully established itself in the centers of the ASAN Service, and this is a model and example for all state structures, President Aliyev said at the opening of the Shaki ASAN Hayat complex.

Further, the head of state touched upon the importance of the complex.

“I am very glad that such a wonderful complex has been created and started working in the city of Shaki. Jobs have been created here for Shaki youth. You have been offered 190 jobs. I am glad that the overwhelming majority of those working here are young people, including girls. At the same time, as I was informed, 50 volunteers will work in the complex. Thus, 240 people will provide services of the highest level to citizens. Because ASAN Hayat complexes, ASAN Service centers are the structures that provide public services at the highest level on a global scale. It is no coincidence that several years ago, the UN awarded ASAN Service a special award for public services. As you know, this practice is being studied in several countries, and the relevant documents on ASAN Service have been signed with several countries,” President Aliyev noted.

The head of state underlined that recently, ASAN expanded the scope of activities.

“I have repeatedly said that the areas that today do not receive the approval of citizens and raise concerns, ASAN Service approach must be introduced. It is no coincidence that the number of services provided in the centers is gradually increasing. Here in this center 320 services are rendered. In the first centers of ASAN Service we reached 100, afterwards 200 services. Now the number of services is growing and will gradually increase,” Ilham Aliyev emphasized.

Further, the head of state pointed out that ASAN Service develops a very important sphere of the country - the sphere of self-employment.

“ABAD centers play a special role in the efficient operation of family farms. That is, these centers, one may say, cover most of the tasks facing the country and show an example, a way, an approach,” the President said.

President Aliyev pointed to the fact that today, Shaki is turning into an international tourism center.

Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva also attended the inauguration of the newly built Heydar Aliyev Center, the opening of the Flag Museum, the inauguration of the ShakiKish highway, the opening of ABAD Center of Ceramics and Applied Arts, the inauguration of a new building of the mixed type orphanage, constructed at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The head of state signed an order on measures to improve housing and living conditions of the population of Shaki.
