Lina Vaitkeviciene: Azerbaijan is ahead of entire region, having created transnational news agency
In Azerbaijan, there are serious qualitative changes in all spheres of society. Modernization is carried out in key areas of the country's development, including in the information sphere.
"Having worked for almost a year at Trend, I can proudly say that I was fortunate enough to work at an agency that is an internationally recognized leader of the information market in a large region. In recent months, Trend has significantly increased its presence and authority as a regional transnational agency and confidently strengthened its position in world information system," deputy director general of the international information agency Trend Lina Vaitkeviciene told Day.Az.
Trend is the first transnational media agency in the region, and this is the country's success. We see multiple daily reprints and quotations of Trend on the news feeds of the world's leading media outlets, and today many of the regional media, and not only them, are living up to the agency, she said.
“This, in my opinion, is connected with the active introduction of advanced innovative technologies into the practice of the agency, which allowed not only news, but also specialized information monitoring of Trend to become available in all reputable online media markets in the world. As a result, Trend has become even stronger as one of the main providers of news from the South Caucasus, Iran and Central Asia for influential participants in the global market," she noted.
As Vaitkeviciene said, a great achievement for the further promotion and expansion of the Trend agency’s audience will be the new unique System of access to the agency’s products. Thanks to this System, all Trend information products will become available in a very simplified way: users will be able to view and purchase online, in fully automated mode, the agency’s products - from individual materials to analytical monitoring - in any quantity for a period from one day to one year.
Other key factors contributing to the success of the agency are the distinctive style and quality of journalism, as well as the fact that in recent years Trend has attracted and continues to attract foreign coaches and journalists from the most reputable foreign publications to prepare their own journalists, she added.
Innovation, novelty and use of the latest achievements in the field of media have allowed Trend to consolidate the status of an advanced information agency in the region. As the expert on international relations of the University of Marquette (U.S.) Peter Tase stressed, Trend is a bridge between Azerbaijan and the whole world. Indeed, today 70 percent of our readers are abroad.
Vaitkeviciene underlined that this is only the first stage of Trend’s strategic development plan for the near future. The agency will continue its work aimed at strengthening its status as the main information window of the region to the world.
